Dr. Brone left New Jersey in 1984 to attend North Carolina State University. After graduating there, she attended medical school at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After graduating from there in 1992, she attended a three year family medicine residency program at a community hospital, Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, in Greensboro, North Carolina. Dr. Brone then moved to Columbus, Ohio and completed a one-year sports medicine fellowship at Grant Medical Center.

Dr. Brone has been a recreational athlete all of her life. At various points in her life, she has participated in gymnastics, softball, volleyball, basketball, field hockey, hiking, backpacking, snow shoeing, downhill skiing, cross country skiing, swimming, cycling, racquetball, jogging, and sea kayaking. As a youth, she swam and played softball competitively. She believes that it's important to practice what you preach, so she tries to stay active doing a variety of activities. To celebrate her 40th birthday, she completed her first sprint triathlon.

Dr. Brone also enjoys doing landscape photography, spending time with her dog, and catching up with friends. Dr. Brone is an active member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine. She is also a member of the Boulder County Medical Society and the American Academy of Family Physicians and both of their respective state counterparts.
